These sessions are specifically designed to help individuals look inward and gain a deeper understanding of their emotional landscape. Through gentle interventions and feedback from the horse, participants are guided to recognise their emotions, identify their emotional triggers, and learn practical techniques for regulating strong emotions. These session come with a written debrief after each session to reflect back on and give more in-depth detail to the sequence of activities completed with the horse/horses.

Western horseback riding is a fun way to build strength, balance, and confidence while enjoying the outdoors. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and fosters a unique bond between rider and horse. Our saddles are genuine Western saddles that have been flown over from California, where I first learned to ride, ensuring an authentic, comfortable, and secure experience for every rider.

Goat Trekking

Goat Trekking at Stable Steps is a calm, outdoor experience combining gentle walking with guided emotional support. Walk alongside our Anglo-Nubian goats, Jamie and Olivia, during a relaxed 45-minute stroll across open green fields, creating a natural space for conversation, reflection, and support for both adults and children. Return the goats to their paddock and give them a cuddle!

  • Spending time outdoors with animals can reduce stress, boost mood, and encourage open communication. Walking side-by-side often feels less formal than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to talk about worries, build confidence, and work through school- or work-related challenges. The gentle presence of the goats helps people feel grounded and at ease, supporting emotional wellbeing, problem-solving, and positive personal development in a non-judgemental setting.
